“For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.” –Hebrews 13:14 ESV
Restoration is here! His name is Jesus! This is our anthem. This is our sound. Restoration Church is committed to lifting this banner high over New Orleans and among the nations.
Restoration Church is excited to announce our adoption by Williams Blvd. Baptist Church of Kenner, LA, as an official mission church. So what does this mean? Currently, our Sunday Gathering 10:45AM is combined with Williams Blvd. Baptist Church weekly at 3000 Williams Blvd., Kenner, LA, 70065. Additionally, our members and guests are encouraged to connect prior with Williams Blvd. Baptist Church’s regular Bible Fellowship each Sunday 9:30AM. For more information on how and where to connect: http://www.williamsblvd.org
Restoration Church gathers in a separate, distinct gathering monthly on the campus of Williams Blvd. Baptist Church on the corresponding Sunday 6:30PM. More details will be available here on our website. In the meantime our core team continues to gather to read, pray, and share with one another and our community regarding our next steps in Metairie, LA. These core team meetings for Restoration Church happen monthly over lunch after the corresponding Sunday Gathering with Williams Blvd. Baptist Church
The vision for “Restoration: Next” is to spend this season in preparation to replant Restoration Church in 2019 and beyond in a new location alongside Williams Blvd. Baptist Church with a strong core team dedicated to the mission and vision of the church for New Orleans and the nations!
So is Restoration Church coming to an end?
Absolutely not! Restoration Church was born out of a vision for our city and community to experience the power of restoration rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ. We officially launched in December 2013 under the leadership of Pastor Dean Ross as a replant of the historic Lakeside Baptist Church of Metairie, LA. Our mission has been clear since day one: Love God and Love People. We are blessed to report greater than 30 souls have been saved and baptized through this work since its inception and we believe the best is yet to come!
Why meet on Sundays with another church?
Williams Blvd. Baptist Church is the home church of Pastor Dean Ross. Our ministry and mission have been shaped by the influence of the work of this great church. Williams Blvd. Baptist Church officially sponsored Restoration Church as a church plant in 2013 and a relationship between the leadership of our churches continues to this very day. The DNA of these two churches is strikingly similar.
What happens to the members of Restoration Church?
Restoration Church is officially a mission church of Williams Blvd. Baptist Church. We initially began as a completely autonomous work sponsored by Williams Blvd. Baptist Church. However, with this move our members became members of Williams Blvd. Baptist Church upon the affirmation of their membership. In essence, both churches share the same membership during this season.
What will happen to Restoration Church’s current property?
Restoration Church was gifted its current property by unanimous affirmation of the remaining members of Lakeside Baptist Church shortly after our initial launch. Our church owns and operates this property without any indebtedness. Restoration Church honors and continues the vision that initially started a congregation in the rapidly growing suburb of Metairie in 1958. Importantly, we realize the church is a people and not a building. Restoration Church plans to permanently relocate upon being replanted in 2019 and beyond. The Metairie property we currently own is being leased by another church that can better utilize the facility with an option to purchase next year. An executive oversight board has been formed upon the approval of both the Restoration Church and Williams Blvd. Baptist Church membership. This executive board features the pastors of both churches and outside representation. The current members of our executive oversight board are listed under the leadership tab on this website. This board is tasked with steering the vision and assets of Restoration Church prior to its replanting in another location in the near future.
How do I connect or stay connected with Restoration Church?
Restoration Church is fully integrated for now on Sundays and midweek as members of Williams Blvd. Baptist Church. We are invited and encouraged to take part in the same events alongside one another as we are able to participate. This season is an exciting time for us to be walking hand-in-hand with the Williams Blvd. Baptist Church family as the Lord is shaping something special with a renewed mission and vision for the church. Restoration Church hosts a distinct monthly gathering Sunday 6:30PM on corresponding dates for our churches and the community. More information is available on this website.
Who will be our leaders?
Pastor Dean Ross continues to serve the Restoration Church family as its replant pastor under the leadership and guidance of Pastor Tim Williams of Williams Blvd. Baptist Church. The senior leadership of Williams Blvd. Baptist Church serves as our leadership. Pastor Dean Ross currently serves on pastoral staff alongside lead Pastor Tim Williams, Pastor Jamie Elliott, and the ministry staff of Williams Blvd. Baptist Church. Pastor Brett Weller of Restoration Church remains committed to serving Restoration Church alongside Pastor Dean Ross in addition to working with Pastor Jamie Elliott in the worship and missions ministries of Williams Blvd. Baptist Church.
Can I still make financial gifts to Restoration Church?
As a mission church, Restoration Church shares resources to a certain extent with Williams Blvd. Baptist Church. However, we remain dependent on the continued financial contributions of our membership and supporters for our annual ministry budget while partnered with Williams Blvd. Baptist Church. If you choose to give during Sunday Gatherings or any other event with Williams Blvd. Baptist Church, you may do so by cash (designate “Restoration Church Metairie” on the offering envelope provided) or check (make out to “Restoration Church Metairie”). The primary way we encourage you to continue the giving of your tithes and offerings is online at http://www.restorationgathering.com/give
What happens to The Restoration Collective?
Absolutely nothing. The Restoration Collective is a collection of individuals and organizations committed to pursuing the restoration of our city and world by assisting churches, proclaiming Jesus, and mobilizing people. For now The Restoration Collective will continue to serve as the parachurch ministry and missions function of Restoration Church. There are future plans for it to be established as a separate 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Restoration Collective is built upon the legacy of Abandon Productions, which pioneered concerts, events, and movements across New Orleans and the Gulf South in years past. This work originates from Pastor Dean Ross’ calling and work as a teenager at Williams Blvd. Baptist Church.
How can I pray for Restoration Church?
Pray for the passion, resources, and vision of Restoration Church. Pray for Metairie and all of New Orleans. Pray for the nations who have yet to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. Pray for Williams Blvd. Baptist Church and the entire Kenner community. Pray for this season of vision, prayer, and preparation. Pray for us to be empowered by the Holy Spirit for the work ahead.
