ANNOUNCING THE FAMILY CHURCH

FC_social-share_graphic@2x

This month the congregations of Crossroads Community Church and Restoration Church unanimously voted and announced our plan to merge together with the intention to replant under a new name and vision.  Today we are excited to announce our new name: Family Church.

WHY THE FAMILY CHURCH?

Family is rooted in the Trinitarian nature of God.  Just as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are one family in relationship with one another, so is his church (John 17:21).  From the beginning of creation, God declared, “It is not good that the man should be alone” (Genesis 2:18).  Not only did God create and bless the marriage relationship, he extended familial and relational attributes to his church.

WHEN & WHERE WILL WE BEGIN?

We have a mission and vision rooted in the Lord’s commands to his people: Love God Passionately and Love People Personally (Mark 12:29-31).  Our aim is to see people follow Jesus (Matthew 28:18-20) and walk in obedience as the church (Hebrews 13:14-18).  Initially, we plan to gather at 3233 Loyola Drive, Kenner, LA 70065 to serve our community and begin new works to impact our city.

WHO WILL LEAD US?

Jesus forms the church (Matthew 16:18-19) and guides us by the work of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:42-47).  Our pastoral elders will be Dean Ross of Restoration Church and Larry Johnson of Crossroads Community Church.  The elders are responsible for leading the church to function as a New Testament church and accomplish its purpose.  Pastor Dean Ross, as pastor of preaching and vision, will serve as the primary communicator, supervise church staff, and represent the church.  Other servant leaders and teams, including staff and deacons, will be formed.

HOW CAN I JOIN THE FAMILY?

Currently, we are working toward a soft-launch this Fall 2020 and a public launch in 2021.  All active members of Crossroads Community Church and Restoration Church will transfer to the Family Church via a membership commitment.  Make sure to stay in touch for the latest information via our new website listed below and search us on social media.  If you would like to know more about Jesus or join our church family, please fill out our online form and we will be in touch soon: http://www.JoinTheFamily.Church

OUR RESPONSE TO CORONAVIRUS AS A CHURCH

FC_Coronovirus Update_March 18 2020

A JOIN MESSAGE FROM PASTOR DEAN ROSS AND PASTOR LARRY JOHNSON:

We love our church family.  We want you to know we are praying for you and your family regularly as we go through this Coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic together.  Your health and well-being are of highest priority to us.

In light of internal discussions between church leaders, suggestions from our governmental leaders and the ongoing nature of the upcoming merger of Crossroads Community Church and Restoration Church under a new name and vision, we will not be gathering in-person until after Easter.  We will notify everyone if any changes occur.

Each Sunday we will share a devotional video from either Pastor Dean or Pastor Larry.  Currently, we are in a message series entitled, “40: Tempted & Tried.”  In this series we are looking at the “40 days” passages of Scripture where faith and trust in God were paramount.  What a great reminder for these trying times!

Additionally, we will post weekly updates for the next several weeks to our respective social media accounts for Crossroads Community Church and Restoration Church.  In the coming days, we will be revealing the name of the new church.

In the meantime, our online giving portals are still available at http://www.CrossroadsKenner.com and http://www.RestorationGathering.com for those who are able to continue their regular giving.

The church was made for such a time as this!  In Acts 2:42-47 we see the early church coming together in devotion and in power during trying times.  Nothing could stop the Good News of Jesus Christ from spreading to the ends of the earth.  The church was the hope in an uncertain world.  Not much has changed.

If you or your family have any needs or prayer requests, please do not hesitate to contact us by phone, email, social media or online.

Rest assured, we serve a certain God in uncertain times.

BIG NEW FOR THE ROSS FAMILY & OUR CHURCH

RC_CCC Merger Announcment

BIG NEWS FOR THE ROSS FAMILY AND OUR CHURCH

We love Williams Blvd Baptist Church.  Words can’t begin to describe what my home church has meant to my family and I.  It has been my absolute honor to serve as one of the pastors of this great church during this season of life and ministry.

In summer of 2018, the Restoration Church family announced our official adoption by Williams Blvd Baptist Church with the intention of one day replanting the church.  That day has now come!

Crossroads Community Church in Kenner, LA, has voted unanimously to merge with Restoration Church to replant alongside us.  With the support of Williams Blvd Baptist Church, we will begin taking the necessary steps to lay the groundwork for this new work.

We will continue gathering with Williams Blvd Baptist Church through Easter 2020.  I personally couldn’t be more excited the church will be offering 2 worship opportunities this Easter Sunday 9AM & 10:45AM at 3000 Williams Blvd, Kenner.

Following Easter we’ll begin core and launch team development for this new church.  In the coming weeks, we’ll reveal the new name and vision for this work.  The current plan is for the church to have a soft-launch this fall and a more public launch in 2021 at 3233 Loyola Drive, Kenner.

Here’s how you can joy us as we prepare for this new and exciting season:

PRAY

Pray for our passion, resources, and vision.  Luke 10:2 reads, “The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few.  Therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”  Funny thing about this prayer that Jesus commanded; the answer to the prayer were those willing to pray it!

ENCOURAGE

We know from experience that church planting and replanting is tough work but it is worth it.  We believe God has great plans for our city.  Over the coming weeks, we know we’ll be encouraged by many people.  We already have been!  Keep it coming.  I also want to encourage you, especially those sending us out, with the promise Jesus has given his people: “I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18).

GIVE

Great work require great sacrifice.  Jesus built his church to give to others and encourage one another.  In the coming weeks, we will lay out ways that churches and individuals can partner in this new work through their time, talent, and treasure.

Again, it’s bittersweet to announce that we’ll soon be sent out again by my home church.  We love each of you so much, but the great thing about spiritual family is it always continues as we labor aside one another for the cause of Christ and the sake of the gospel!  Without you all we wouldn’t be here:

“because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.” -Philippians 1:5
